Softball Recap: Wardlaw Academy Triumphs

Wardlaw Academy won the last time they faced King Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Brianna McNeill ( JR) was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. McNeill ( JR) was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Hill (JR), who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hailey Holmes (SR) was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Wardlaw Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wardlaw Academy's record is now 6-7. As for King Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Wardlaw Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
