Baseball Game Preview: Prairiland Patriots vs. Paradise Panthers

For the second straight game, Prairiland will face off against Paradise. The Patriots will challenge the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Prairiland heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They lost 11-0 to Paradise. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Patriots haven't been shut out since back in February.

For Paradise's part, Prairiland's batters probably weren't too happy with Kolten Neil, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up two walks). Neil has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cash Watson was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Paradise is 9-1 when Watson posts two or more runs, but 5-7-2 otherwise. Andrew Valencia was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Paradise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Paradise is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Prairiland, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12-1.
