The Woodland Wolves will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on the Lincoln Fighting Zebras at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Woodland is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after opening their season on the road. They lost 28-7 to Mesa Verde on Friday.

Despite the loss, Woodland got top-tier performance from Diego Bautista, who picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 71 yards. Bautista was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.

Meanwhile, Lincoln gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past Rio Linda, posting a 41-13 victory at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.

Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lane Tingey led the charge by rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while also picking up 95 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Eli Duff, who threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes.

Lincoln wouldn't let Rio Linda keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. Lincoln can thank Brock Galer and Hunter Johnson for forcing all of them.
