Softball Game Preview: Barrington Eagles vs. Cranston East Thunderbolts

The Barrington Eagles will square off against the Cranston East Thunderbolts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Barrington easily dispatched Davies Career & Tech on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Eagles fell just short of Toll Gate by a score of 9-7 on Wednesday.

Maya Etheridge (2026) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. Aislinn McCoy (2025) was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Cranston East had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Rogers a 12-0 shutout on Thursday. The Thunderbolts are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 18 straight dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Cydnee Meekins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Leanna Garcia, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
