Soccer Recap: Southeast Guilford Comes Up Short

It was a classic East v. West duel when Southeast Guilford challenged Western Guilford on Tuesday. The Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. Southeast Guilford were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Western Guilford earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Southeast Guilford dropped their record down to 1-17 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Western Guilford, with the victory, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-13-1.

Southeast Guilford and Western Guilford could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Falcons will square off against Northwest Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (364 vs. 24). Meanwhile, Western Guilford (ranked 346th) will meet Northern Guilford (ranked 38th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
