Recap: Bethany Wolves vs. Phoenix Academy Firebirds
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop McGuinness, the Bethany Wolves were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Phoenix Academy as Bethany made off with a 45-20 victory. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Bethany had established a 21 point advantage.
Bethany found their leader in underclassman Mattie Southard, who scored 17 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Hattiejo Hopper, who scored six points along with five steals.
Bethany pushed their record up to 12-15 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Phoenix Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Bethany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Phoenix Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Piedmont Classical at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
