Basketball Recap: Hagerstown Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Landon Lawson and Kaagen Kendall

Hagerstown lost against Centerville back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hagerstown Tigers received a blow as they fell 59-41 to the Centerville Bulldogs. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Hagerstown's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaagen Kendall, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards, and Landon Lawson, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Kendall's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaykob Troutwine, who posted six points.

Even though they lost, Hagerstown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centerville only pulled down seven offensive boards.

Centerville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Landyn Keiser out in front who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Hollendonner, who put up eight points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Hagerstown and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Centerville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Hagerstown will face off against Winchester Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hagerstown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for Centerville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-41 defeat against Northeastern on the 11th.
