Recap: Trenton Tigers vs. Williston Red Devils
The Trenton Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 47-46 win over Williston. The victory was just what Trenton needed coming off of a 63-26 loss in their prior contest.
Trenton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Koi Perry out in front who scored 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Perry scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyima Gillyard, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Williston's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaelynn Brown, who scored 18 points. Kierce Solomon was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Trenton's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Williston, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Trenton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wildwood at 7:00 p.m. on February 19th. Wildwood will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Trenton surely won't give up without a fight. Williston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
