Baseball Recap: Pekin Comes Up Short

Pekin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Richwoods Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 on Thursday.

Pekin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joel Mingus, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Pekin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-25. As for Richwoods, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Pekin nor Richwoods have any future games scheduled.
