Soccer Game Preview: St. Mary's vs. Lincoln

The St. Mary's Rams will head out to challenge the Lincoln Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If St. Mary's beats Lincoln with three goals on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. St. Mary's walked away with a 3-1 win over Kimball on Tuesday. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Jaguars are ranked 1013th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Etienne Lopez and George Biglieri scored all three of St. Mary's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Lincoln had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They never let the Flames onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by just one goal.

St. Mary's has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 10-1-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
