Corbin Kim and Nathaniel Jensen did most of the damage at the plate: Kim scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Jensen scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Jensen has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Casey Kim also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Glendale Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingman Academy only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-2 to Fountain Hills, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Cade Zawada put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Scottsdale Preparatory Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise. Zawada was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Glendale Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glendale Prep Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. It's a different story for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Glendale Prep Academy's hitters?
