Basketball Recap: Escambia Find Success

If Pensacola wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Escambia, they should've done a better job of containing Travaris Coleman. Everything went the Escambia Gators' way against the Pensacola Tigers on Friday as the Escambia Gators made off with a 53-32 win thanks in part to Coleman, who went 7 of 10 en route to 18 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in boards (four).

Pensacola's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Khylen Eccles, who posted nine points, and Jabari Epps, who had eight points.

Escambia's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Pensacola, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Escambia will head out to take on Choctawhatchee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pensacola, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Pensacola Tigers challenge the West Florida Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pensacola is facing West Florida at the right time seeing as West Florida is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
