Baseball Recap: Pike Central Chargers vs. Wood Memorial Trojans
Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 11-6 to the Wood Memorial Trojans. Pike Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wood Memorial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.
Matthew Meadows was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Carter, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Pike Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Wood Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
Pike Central has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Northeast Dubois at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Northeast Dubois will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Pike Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wood Memorial, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Evansville Christian at 5:00 p.m.
