Volleyball Game Preview: Hobbs Eagles vs. Clovis Wildcats + How To Watch

The Hobbs Eagles will head out to face off against the Clovis Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hobbs took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Roswell 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted against the Coyotes since October 31, 2023.

While Hobbs might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Roswell scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Clovis narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Carlsbad 3-2. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cavemen/Cavegirls recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Clovis had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 16-25, 25-22, 26-24, 15-9.

Hobbs' win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Clovis, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Hobbs skirted past Clovis 3-2 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
