Baseball Recap: Mingo Central Takes a Loss

If Mingo Central was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Phelps on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Miners fell 12-7 to the Pike County Central Hawks on Thursday. The Miners have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Dylan Vance was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Fabin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mingo Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Pike County Central, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.
