League recap: Stevens dominating on the mound for Trinity Presbyterian

3A Area 5 league recap: 4/3/13

Trinity Presbyterian's Brock Stevens was the best pitcher in 3A Area 5 this week. Over the past week, he racked up one win and 17 strikeouts.

The Wildcats outperformed the rest of the league this week, as their six total wins led the league. Trinity Presbyterian beat Wetumpka 4-1 and Thorsby 9-1.

The Wildcats' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 29 hits and 21 walks to lead the league in both categories.

Trinity Presbyterian struck out a league-leading 46 times over the past week. The Wildcats have struggled at the plate this season, leading the league with 105 strikeouts.

11 RBIs over the past week allowed Trinity Presbyterian's Zack Walker to boost his season output so far to 17, tops in the league.

The Wildcats' Walker racked up 11 RBIs this week, more than any other hitter. Walker has 17 RBIs this season, first in the league.



Walker drove in five runners on Tuesday in Trinity Presbyterian's 11-1 victory over Pell City. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Stevens led the Wildcats to a win on March 29, as he notched 12 strikeouts to beat the Rebels, 9-1.
