Baseball Recap: Rising Tide Takes a Loss

Rising Tide extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 22 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They came up short against the St. John Paul II Lions, falling 31-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against St. John Paul II this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 31-0 back in April.

As for St. John Paul II, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 16-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average this season.

For St. John Paul II's part, Drew Richards made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Richards was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, St. John Paul II got a massive performance out of Henry Roy, who went 2-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Oscar Johnson, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
