Basketball Recap: Ennis Takes a Loss

Ennis suffered their closest defeat since November 23rd on Saturday. They fell just short of the Athens Hornets by a score of 67-64. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Ennis' defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Athens, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ennis will venture away from home to take on Red Oak at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Athens, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs the Athens Hornets challenge the Kemp Yellowjackets at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens is facing Kemp at the right time seeing as Kemp is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
