Softball Recap: Midland Comes Up Short

Midland dropped to 13-6 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Garber Dukes by a score of 7-6. If the Chemics were looking for revenge after losing 10-4 to the Dukes when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Garber, their victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.

For Garber's part, the team relied heavily on Sadie Lapan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Wagner, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Midland will square off against Lake Orion at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Garber, they will face off against Pinconning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
