Volleyball Recap: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Sequoyah Chiefs

McIntosh and Sequoyah squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but McIntosh had to settle for second. They came up short against the Sequoyah Chiefs, falling 3-0. It was the first time this season that McIntosh let down their fans at home.

While McIntosh was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 27-25, 26-24.

Despite the defeat, McIntosh had strong showings from Ava Flores, who had nine digs and 13 assists, and Ava Underwood, who had 14 digs. Flores is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Sequoyah had a senior duo take command as Jordyn Mcrobert had 21 digs and Lilly Hutson had 11 digs.

McIntosh's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 32-10. As for Sequoyah, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.

McIntosh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sequoyah has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Habersham Central on the 23rd.
