Frankston has gone a perfect 6-0 against LaPoynor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Frankston Indians will square off against the LaPoynor Flyers at 6:00 p.m.

While Frankston's win against LaPoynor wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Frankston sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over LaPoynor on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Flyers: they've now won six in a row.

For LaPoynor's part, Taylor Lovett put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Lovett has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Lovett wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, LaPoynor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.2.

With the loss, LaPoynor broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Frankston, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-5.
