Softball Recap: Boyd County Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Boyd County was feeling good fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Bath County on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions came up short against the Wheelersburg Pirates on Thursday, falling 16-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 8-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Boyd County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyli Kouns, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Boyd County's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-15. As for Wheelersburg, the win keeps they at an undefeated 22-0.

Coming up, Boyd County is taking a road trip to square off against Raceland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheelersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
