Basketball Game Preview: Paducah Dragons vs. Valley Patriots

Paducah hasn't had much luck against Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Paducah Dragons will look to defend their home court against the Valley Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Paducah comes in on four and Valley on eight.

Paducah is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 92-75 victory over Motley County on Friday.

Meanwhile, everything went Valley's way against Guthrie on Friday as Valley made off with a 53-32 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 games by 20 points or more this season.

Valley found their leader in freshman Corbin Taylor, who went 11 of 12 on his way to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Taylor's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanyon Taylor, who posted nine points along with six boards and five blocks.

Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 24 consecutive contests.

Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Paducah, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Paducah was taken down by Valley 75-36 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Paducah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
