Softball Recap: Clymer/Sherman Comes Up Short

Clymer/Sherman managed to slip by Westfield the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolves lost 8-2 to the Wolverines on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Wolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Elli Bodamer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Keira Kinal made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Clymer/Sherman's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Westfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Clymer/Sherman has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Maple Grove on the 16th. As for Westfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-3 win against Frewsburg on the 15th.
