Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Airport). They wrapped up 2024 with a 64-50 victory over the Baptist Hill Bobcats. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Airport got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tristan McCray out in front who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Those 11 boards gave McCray a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Jeffries, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds.

Baptist Hill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Douglas, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Douglas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Martrell Wright was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Airport's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Baptist Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Airport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-24 defeat against Philip Simmons on the 28th. As for Baptist Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-52 loss against Hanahan on the 28th.
