Basketball Recap: Whitehall-Yearling Comes Up Short

Whitehall-Yearling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. The contest between them and the Eastmoor Academy Warriors didn't end well, with the Whitehall-Yearling Rams falling 75-57. The Rams were probably out for revenge after losing 69-54 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Eastmoor Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dekar Moultry led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Moultry a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was JD Broomfield, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Whitehall-Yearling's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Eastmoor Academy, they moved to 5-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Whitehall-Yearling will head out to take on Bishop Ready at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Ready will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Whitehall-Yearling surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastmoor Academy, they will be playing at home against Briggs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastmoor Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.
