Lago Vista has won eight straight games at home, while Manor New Tech has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Vikings will welcome Manor New Tech at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Manor New Tech's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Lago Vista hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Vikings never let Travis get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Monday.
Winter Callahan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sydney Mosser was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Helton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.
Lago Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Manor New Tech got the win against Travis on Friday by a conclusive 18-1.
Like Lago Vista, Manor New Tech also got a great game from a two-way player: Muneera Shaheryar. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Shaheryar was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Manor New Tech got a massive performance out of Lynette Munoz, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Those triples marked the first that Munoz hit this season. Alexis Martinez-Zambrano was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Lago Vista is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Manor New Tech, their win bumped their record up to 10-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lago Vista has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Manor New Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Lago Vista's way against Manor New Tech in their previous meeting back in March, as Lago Vista made off with a 12-1 victory. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do Manor New Tech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
