Baseball Recap: Neumann Regional Academy Falls to South Williamsport in First Game of Season

Neumann Regional Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the South Williamsport Mountaineers on Monday, falling 18-9. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Knights in their meetings with the Mountaineers: they've now lost four in a row.

Neumann Regional Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Walter, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Gino Birch was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Coming up, Neumann Regional Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Sugar Valley Rural at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Williamsport, they are taking a road trip to take on Hughesville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
