Volleyball Recap: South Christian Takes a Loss

South Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Byron Center Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Sailors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Finley Arp paced South Christian's offense, picking up nine kills. Arp got some help from Brooke VanderLaan and her seven assists. VanderLaan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Byron Center's win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Coincidentally, South Christian and Byron Center will both be playing Portage Northern the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will host the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Sailors will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
