Soccer Recap: Hueytown Comes Up Short

Hueytown lost against Pell City back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hueytown Golden Gophers lost 4-1 to the Pell City Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Golden Gophers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Panthers are ranked 32nd).

Hueytown is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Pell City, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hueytown will challenge Wenonah at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pell City, they will head out to square off against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
