Softball Recap: Blue Ridge Takes a Loss

Blue Ridge managed to slip by Safford the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Yellow Jackets came up short against the Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 16-5. The Yellow Jackets just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Xyomara Navarro made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Safford, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Looking ahead, Blue Ridge is taking a road trip to take on Winslow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. As for Safford, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-2 loss against Walden Grove on the 3rd.
