Softball Recap: Polytechnic Has No Trouble Against Flintridge Prep

Polytechnic not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2025 (when they won 16-4). They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Flintridge Prep Wolves. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Amelia Shih made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Polytechnic got a massive performance out of Eila Chan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brynn Connolly, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Polytechnic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Polytechnic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Flintridge Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Polytechnic and Flintridge Prep will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Panthers see the field they'll take on Mayfield at 3:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Flintridge Prep, their break will end when they face La Salle at 4:00 p.m. on April 1.
