Baseball Recap: Orem Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Orem walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over the Salem Hills Skyhawks on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Tayden Kaawa was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kaawa is crushing it when it comes to RBI: he's brought in at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Merrick Bostock, who went 4-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Orem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Orem's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Salem Hills, they moved to 14-16 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Orem will square off against Brighton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bengals will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Salem Hills, they will challenge Olympus at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
