Basketball Recap: Cathedral Catholic Takes a Loss

Cathedral Catholic lost against St. Augustine back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cathedral Catholic Dons fell to the St. Augustine Saints 69-64.

When it comes to explaining why Cathedral Catholic lost, don't look at PJ Jourdain. Despite the final result, he went 12 of 16 to rack up 33 points and three steals. Those 33 points gave Jourdain a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Patrick O'Brien, who went 7 for 16 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds.

Cathedral Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for St. Augustine, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cathedral Catholic will venture away from home to challenge Scripps Ranch at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Augustine, they will head out on the road to face off against Mission Bay at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
