Baseball Recap: Lexington Find Success

The Lexington Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the McLoud Redskins 4-3 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Colby Haynes made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James McMillan, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Lexington is 3-1 when McMillan posts two or more runs, but 14-16 otherwise.

The win got Lexington back to even at 17-17. As for McLoud, their loss dropped their record down to 11-16.

Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McLoud, they will square off against Woodland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
