Goliad came into Friday's match looking for another win against Karnes City, but Allie Wieding wouldn't allow it. The Karnes City Badgers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Goliad Tigers on Friday, sneaking past 49-47 thanks in part to Wieding, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (two).

Another player making a difference was Sophia Orosco, who posted seven points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

The victory made it two in a row for Karnes City and bumps their season record up to 14-17. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Goliad, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 14-17.

Karnes City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-50 defeat against Nixon-Smiley on the 4th. As for Goliad, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 34-33 loss against Stockdale on the 4th.
