Volleyball Recap: Big Walnut Comes Up Short

Big Walnut lost against Worthington Kilbourne on April 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles lost 3-0 to the Wolves. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Worthington Kilbourne scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 25-23.

Nathaniel Weaver paced Big Walnut's offense, picking up ten kills. Weaver got some help from Bryce Lawhun and his 23 assists. Lawhun was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Big Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Worthington Kilbourne, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Big Walnut will square off against Dublin Scioto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Irish at the right time seeing as the Irish are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Worthington Kilbourne, they will take on Westerville North at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
