Softball Recap: Shipley Comes Up Short

Shipley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Germantown Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Shipley fell just short of Germantown Academy by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that Shipley has lost by exactly two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Shipley and nudges their season record down to 7-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Germantown Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Germantown Academy beat Shipley by a score of 14-10 on Friday.
