Santa Rosa came tearing into Tuesday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Clayton Yellowjackets with a sharp 20-1 win. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Maddox Lucero was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Landyn Zamora was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Joshua Cordova was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Santa Rosa pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clayton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Santa Rosa beat Clayton by a score of 19-3 later that day.
