Soccer Game Preview: Vista vs. Mission Vista

The Vista Panthers will square off against Mission Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Vista's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged Oceanside out 1-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Mission Vista fell victim to San Dieguito Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Mission Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 860th, while San Dieguito Academy is ranked 82nd).

Mission Vista's loss dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10-3.

Vista skirted past Mission Vista 1-0 when the teams last played back in January. Will Vista repeat their success, or does Mission Vista have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
