Baseball Recap: North Sand Mountain Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Sand Mountain entered their tilt with North Jackson on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the North Jackson Chiefs by a score of 6-1. For the Bison, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Luke Reed and Mikey Poss were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Reed struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Poss pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Reed has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Reed scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Poss scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carson Harvey, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Landon Keller also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

North Sand Mountain's record now sits at 3-1. As for North Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Sand Mountain will face off against Dade County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Jackson, they will square off against Fyffe at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
