Basketball Game Preview: Asher Indians vs. Stratford Bulldogs

Asher is 2-8 against Stratford since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Asher Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Stratford Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Stratford will be up against a hot Asher squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Asher blew past Calvin 54-24 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Stratford waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Tigers to the tune of 54-24. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Tigers are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stratford has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Asher, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Asher suffered a grim 58-37 defeat to Stratford in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Asher avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
