Baseball Game Preview: Aloha Warriors vs. Southridge Skyhawks

For the second straight game, Aloha will face off against Southridge. The Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Skyhawks at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Aloha has five straight victories, Southridge has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Aloha's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Southridge. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Hayden Grot's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Saul Corpus, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Nakamura, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Aloha's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Southridge, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
