Baseball Recap: Grafton Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

While Grafton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Superior Spartans by a score of 6-3 on Friday. The Black Hawks' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Luke Michalak looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zachary Plier, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Will Heinz, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Grafton pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Superior, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grafton will host West Bend East at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Superior, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Allis Hale at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
