Baseball Recap: Scranton Takes a Loss

Scranton blew Delaware Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Delaware Valley got their revenge. The Knights fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered against the Warriors since April 10, 2024.

Erick Guerrero and Adrian Hernandez did some serious damage despite the final result: Guerrero got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Hernandez went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Leonori, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Scranton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Delaware Valley, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Scranton is taking a road trip to face off against Scranton Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Delaware Valley, they will be playing at home against Nazareth Area at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
