Softball Preview: Williamsport Millionaires vs. Mifflin County Huskies

The Williamsport Millionaires will head out on the road to square off against the Mifflin County Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Williamsport after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 6-2 to Selinsgrove. Williamsport has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ashlyn Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Williamsport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Livermore, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Mifflin County also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Chambersburg by a score of 7-2. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Mifflin County has scored all season.

Williamsport's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Mifflin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Williamsport skirted past Mifflin County 8-7 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williamsport since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
