Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Portland). They walked away with a 78-71 win over the Cape Elizabeth Capers on Friday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Capers are ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Portland has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. As for Cape Elizabeth, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Portland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cape Elizabeth, they will challenge Leavitt on Wednesday.
