Baseball Recap: Cincinnati Country Day Comes Up Short

Cincinnati Country Day had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-14 to make it 14. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-0 loss on Tuesday.

Jaemeson French was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy's side, Nolan Lum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Long, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Long has posted since April 6th. Another was Zach Engjurjan, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cincinnati Country Day will host Purcell Marian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wyoming at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
