Belton-Honea Path put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pendleton Bulldogs 52-22. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 120th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Belton-Honea Path's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Thomas, who threw for 242 yards and five TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 97 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Thomas has posted since back in August. Belton-Honea Path's leading receiver Tajeh Watson-Martin was Thomas' top target yet again, picking up 215 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Belton-Honea Path was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 192 rushing yards in eight consecutive games.

Belton-Honea Path's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Watson-Martin, Kamarion Glenn, and Ty Dubose, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Belton-Honea Path's record now sits at 9-0. As for Pendleton, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Belton-Honea Path didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-7 victory against Walhalla on the 31st. As for Pendleton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 28-21 defeat against Crescent on the 31st.
