Football Recap: Belton-Honea Path Skates Past Pendleton with Ease

Belton-Honea Path won the last time they faced Pendleton and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears blew past the Bulldogs, posting a 52-22 win. Fans of the Bears have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Belton-Honea Path's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Thomas, who threw for 242 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 97 yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 84 yards. 215 of Thomas' passing yards were hauled in by Tajeh Watson-Martin, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Belton-Honea Path was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 192 rushing yards in eight consecutive games.

Another reason for the win was Belton-Honea Path's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Watson-Martin, Kamarion Glenn, and Ty Dubose, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Belton-Honea Path's record is now 9-0. As for Pendleton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.
